FOREST ROW PATIO - APRIL 2018
From Mid April 2018, we have been transforming a grassy sloping garden with an outdated shingle path, into a glistening, classy porcelain patio, with a sweeping brick wall. The top of the wall slopes down with the grass bank, creating a subtle merge between the two different sections of the garden area. On top of the brick wall are the same block paviors used along the existing main steps and reaming path towards the bottom of the garden, meaning the wall seamlessly blends from the steps, right down to the pathway. We started by removing the shingle and block paviors from the garden path, and then began excavating the whole of the grass area by the house, having to remove a large amount of earth in order to get to paving level. We then finished prepping the base of the area, before building the brick wall and laying the patio and steps. The project took around 2 weeks, from completely excavating and prepping the area, to ripping up the existing decking and banisters off of the two porches, to then creating the brick wall and laying the slabs, and then finally finishing off with the grouting. The patio also has a shingle border along the brick wall.
